Caña Brava

Caña Brava congregates three companies of the Romero Group that dedicate exclusively to the production of ethanol.

It has more than 9,500 hectares of sugar cane cultivated over plots that are irrigated through a modern drip system, carrying water directly from the Chira River, in the Piura region. It has a production capacity of 370 thousand liters of ethanol per day, with a grind of 4,300 tons of cane per day.

The firm is formed by Agrícola De Chira S.A, which handles the plantation and harvest of the sugar cane; Surcoalcolera Del Chira S.A, responsible for the milling and industrial production of ethanol and, lastly, Bioenergía Del Chira S.A. that take cares of the electric generation from the bagasse.

Caña Brava has a positive impact in the community by producing more than 1,500 direct jobs and boosting the productive chain of the region. The company not only modernized the dessert by planting a green background on the scenery, it also installed more than 59 thousand kilometers of irrigation hoses that allow technicized activities, more than 60% of water savings, mechanized harvests, plague controls, industrial processes and generation of electricity.
